Miss Willmott was a Victorian gardener. She used to inspect other's gardens, and if she felt there was a gap, she'd secretly sprinkle seeds - the gardens' unsuspecting owners would then find, some months later, that they had some new plants...Her favourite seeds for sprinkling have come to be known as "Miss Willmott's Ghost". I thought this was a lovely story, and a good metaphor for what we are able to leave with others when we go.
