about

On the night of 10th January 1866, the fishing port of Brixham was devastated by what became known as The Great Storm. Over 100 men were lost at sea, despite their wives burning makeshift beacons on the quay to guide the ships back in. The tune is based on a very old English piece found in a wonderful collection by Robin Williamson.
